Trading

(Influence Skill)

This is the ability to barter, bargain, and shop effectively as a merchant or customer. It is especially useful when traveling in foreign lands, or dealing with used or hand made goods where it assists in determining something about the quality of items you are purchasing and their condition. (Thus it also acts as a basic appraising skill as well).

Generally the defense for Trading is also Trading skill, and it may also serve as a defense against business related attempts of Fast Talk in some situations.

Failed uses of this skill tends to mean paying more than something is really worth, failing to notice flaws or problems with an item being purchased or failing to pay attention to the letter of what is being said rather than the spirit of it in a business arrangement.
