Sindarians

The Sindarians are one of the great mysteries of the Universe, according to the aliens. Apparently they were an ancient humanoid race that developed tens of thousands, maybe even hundreds of thousands of years ago, into an advanced space traveling species.

They are said to have built the T-Gate system, which uses 5th dimensional space to bypass the normal concepts of space time, allowing traveling thru a form of what the aliens call 'wormholes'. These gates are powered by the Gas Giant planets they are placed in orbit around, leaching hydrogen from them that they use as a fuel source.

The problem with the Sindarians is that they have vanished from the universe, long before nearly all the current races that traverse the gateways. They have left very little of themselves, their culture or their technology behind.

Zamani is unique in that it is the first system where Syndarian technology appears to be present besides the gate systems. It appears that terraforming and maintenance equipment is at work on the various inhabited planets and that it was built by these lost people. Unfortunately none of this can be easily studied in depth, since tampering with the great hiddne machines might disrupt the ecological balance on the worlds and plunge them in to chaos or even kill their entire populations.

It is hoped that lesser Sindarian technology or cultural items might exist on Jarro or the other worlds of the Zamani system, ones that would not disrupt the lives of the various sentient and non-sentient species on these worlds.

The name Sindarian and the concept of their existence, development of the worlds or interference and introduction of living species from other star systems in the past to the Zamani worlds was unknown to the native people before the aliens came along. Many of the local inhabitants do not believe the story about these Sindarians, or that they brought humanity and others thru the gates to settle here when they thought that Earth was going to lose all it's life forms in a great die-off during the ice age period.
