The humans of earth use a caledar system based on their planetary orbit. ECE designates a date based on Earth Current Era, rather than one of the local caledars of Zamani Planets or any of the Jarro nations. It is not the same system used by the other aliens, and is difficult to compare to local time sequencing due to differences in length of year.
