Aramhime The Preserver

Prime current god worshipped in the Dragomir Sultanate, and technically the center of one of the few monotheistic religions in Jarro.

It is a highly conservative religion, in many ways, which works hand in hand with the power and authority of the ruling government.

Aramhime is depicted as a figure with three heads, with the middle face awake and watching and the other two in sleepin repose.

Priests (there are no priestesses) are tatooed with a copy of this figure, on a hand, their back, or their chest as part of their devotion.

The Black Guard is the militaristic branch of the religion. They have extensive (but not absolute) power in regards to the finding of heretics, enforcement of the morality laws and dealing with foreign infidels that seek to corrupt followers of the religion.

Important points within their beliefs:

  • Of Alcoholic Drinks only Fig Wine may be drank, and only from sunset to sunrise.
  • No Women may serve as priests within the religion.
  • Women in public are expected to be attired from neck to toes without bare skin, except for their hands to avoid the tempting of men.
  • Women may not own land or buildings.
  • Slavery of foreigner enemies, non-humans, criminals and debtors is common practice.
  • Slaves are tatooed with a mark to identify their owner.
  • Female slaves are not bound by the rules of attire in public but should be dressed so that their owner marks are visible at all times. Male slaves should have clothing that also exposes their marks in public.
  • Thrice each day the faithful must offer up prayers to Aramhime, at dawn, midday and dusk.
  • The Sultan serves by the will of the god and must uphold and be held by his command.
  • The Priests are the hands of the god, and are not subject to the laws and taxes of the Sultan.
  • The Sultan dispenses justice, protects the land and preserves the economy of the land.
